AJ Levine is one of today’s most engaging biblical scholars. She is the Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, and the University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies Emerita and the Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies Emerita at Vanderbilt University. Professor Levine is the first Jew to teach New Testament at Rome’s Pontifical Biblical Institute. In 2023 she received the Hubert Walter Award for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation from the Archbishop of Canterbury. Her many publications include The Bible with and Without Jesus and The Annotated Jewish New Testament (with Mark Bratter) and numerous guides to aspects of the gospels that are popular with preachers.
